The Derby

Our 1st Pinewood Derby was a success!!  I say "our" because not only was Oshyn building a car, but I am the cub scout committee chair.  It makes me laugh to think this year I have been planning multiple events, without ever having been to them prior.  Thank goodness for the internet & all of the helpful ward members!

All of our cub scouts did an awesome job.  You could tell they all worked super hard to get their cars just right.

Oshyn ended up placing 3rd for Fastest Car.  He was pretty pumped!  I think it may have been the sweet flames he painted on the front that helped it speed to the finish.
Planning for next year begins NOW! :)

Memories

The other two boys used to always climb on this railing when we lived here.
I couldn't resist taking a picture of Tyce doing the same thing.

We have been working on getting the condo ready for a renter, so occasionally the boys come with to "help".  Tyce doesn't remember living here at all and for Cruz it is pretty vague.  Oshyn, on the other hand, I find in funny spots--mostly climbing things (fences, trees, etc.).  He keeps saying, "Ohhh!  The good ol' days....memories!!"  I love it.

Syrup-ism

Cruz & I's afternoon snack discussion went a bit like this today...
C: Thanks for getting out the syrup. Where did you get this from?
H: Do you mean which cupboard or which store?
C: Which store? Do you know why I ask you questions like these? Because when I'm a grown up I want to know where to get things.
H: (trying not to roll on the floor laughing--he was sooo matter-of-fact) I got this syrup at Raley's but I get it at Costco also.
C: What aisle?

I love my Cruzer.

Where's Waldo?

How many Nobmann's does it take?

Happy Twenty Thirteen!

Cheers to Waffles & Whipped Cream!
We still look funny this year?  We'll blame it on Bitter cider face.

Hand Holders

These guys hold hands wherever we go.  In the car...

in the stroller...

and Tyce always gazes lovingly at Kai

Today they were at it again.

Only this time I realized that they even hold hands,

while they are both sleeping!  Best Buddies already.

Daniel Tiger

We started off Tyce's b-day weekend with a bball game to see the UOP Tigers play.

Perfect.  We couldn't have planned it better if we'd tried.  The mascot was a tiger and Tyce was excited.

The next night we had a nice & simple party at home.  He loved his "Daniel Tiger" birthday cake.

We took him on a scavenger hunt around the house to find his presents.
He found a shark helmet in Kai's crib!

The hunt ended with him finding a new big kid bike in the living room.  He was thrilled and started riding it around the house.  Out of pure joy, Tyce started singing Pat Benatar's "Hit me with your Best Shot!".  I have no idea where he knows that song from, but its a goodie, so I'm okay with it.

Three year olds are awesome.  I think all of his wishes came true even though it took him about 5 times to spit blow the flames out.  We all had a lovely layer of saliva on our cake :)

Tiger stripes??  I even impress myself sometimes :)
Happy Happy Birthday Tyce!

Turkey Week

We were so lucky to spend Turkey Week with all of these wonderful family members (plus Auntie & Roger...minus Sammy & Zach)

For the past 7 years we have ALWAYS done a Turkey Trot Thanksgiving Day.  When they didn't have one nearby--we MADE one--with bibs & everything!

1st up: Little Trotters

Next: the Trotters

They weren't messing around with the mile

Cruz (& a few others) got smart & got a ride for a bit from Pop Pop

Later we went bowling,

Grandma Annie snuggled the littlest two grand babies,

got a movie theatre almost all to ourselves,

Daddy, Oshyn, & Cruz skied,

and Gianna was blessed.

17 of 18 grandchildren all together, for multiple days, under one roof...they couldn't have been any happier.  We are so blessed and thankful on this Thanksgiving week for all we have.  Especially for such a fabulous family.
