We 'tri'ed and conquered

This past Saturday Beau and I did a triathlon at Rancho Seco Park in Herald, CA. Here are some highlights...
Pre-race family photo op. (Thanks Aunt Judy!)

Our friends, the Webb's, we set up camp right beside them in the transition area. They rule.

Coming out of the swim--notice who's first? Oh yeah!

Beau finishing the bike. Do you see me coming up right behind him? Well, that's because I'm not. That's why I was happy to at least beat him out of the water. That's where we separated. He works it.
H.J.N. coming in after 8 mi. bike

Happy guy, all done, tons of fun.

Giving Cruz and Uncle Roy high 5's after I finished. And do you see #134 in the background? She was ahead of me the ENTIRE run...last stretch-I smoked her. I'm not competitive :)

Beau's favorite part of the tri was when I popped my head up as we were going around the 3rd buoy and said "Hi!". Mine was when Pop Pop had to change Cruz's diaper without having any wipes-my fault (sorry Pop Pop, but its kind of funny to picture--you are the best!)

Thanks again to Aunt Judy, Uncle Roy and Pop Pop for watching the kiddos and cheering us on. They loved being a part of it and Oshyn can't wait to turn 6 and 'tri' himself.

#2

Dear Cruzer-Bay,
Even though you are a crazy man at church, I love how much fun you are (preferably, craziness at home for future reference). You are such a wonderful snuggler/cuddler and a happy, silly guy, but you also have such a funny grumpy attitude when things aren't going your way...how many times can you throw your head back on the ground that hard before you get a concussion? Every time you call "Mom-EEE!!" I smile and I can't get enough of you saying "Goggles". It cracks me up how much you already want to be like the boys, especially when it comes to chocolate milkshakes. You make all of our lives just that much better.
I love love love you to pieces.

Love,
Mom-EEE

Since when were blue tights sooo cool?

As if wearing the pjs every night wasn't enough, you know the Krypton-born superhero is a well-known guy in our home when our 1 year old sings "Dat da dah" when the name Superman is mentioned.

P.S. We might take you up on the offer Chad. FYI, size 5.

Pumped for Preschool

Oshyn started Preschool back up on Monday. Lets just say he was a little excited. He had his clothes all picked out...his blue Grace Presbyterian Preschool shirt (man do we get good use out of those shirts) and some plaid shorts--shirt tucked-in FOR SURE! I love my little Urkel! I thought we were making good time, being down for breakfast at 7:30am all dressed, 8am being our goal for heading out the door (of course we were riding our bikes!!! yay!) b/c school starts at 8:30am. After a few minutes of breakfast, or should I say "lack of" breakfast, I realized I forgot to figure in some conversation time. Oshyn could NOT stop talking. He is definitely a little conversationalist at all times--dinner is quite a show, but Monday was a record because of his excitement level. All he needed to eat was a bowl of cereal!! At 7:59 I told him he better hurry up and finish so we could go--he still had to brush his teeth and put on shoes. The words "hurry up" usually translate through his ears as "go as slow as possible" so needless to say I was chompin' at the bits telling him to just stop talking for a few minutes. We did leave by 8:15 (hence why I was aiming for 8--so we would leave by 8:15...I'm learning, I'm learning). Joyfully we sped off on our bikes--still talking--all the way to Grace. Cruz cried dropping him off and picking him up, not too much for Oshyn, but for the great toys they have that weren't for him. He got over it when we got back on our bike--he LOVE LOVE LOVES a good ride...almost as much as his Mom does.
