Crazy Hats and a few -isms

for some crazy brothers!

Kai: Where are you?
He love to tackles Tyce when he's waking up
Kai also jumps off of everything--even the bed with pillows to land on.  I've caught him walking on the table more than once.
When he wants to give you something: "Here go!"
He's very independent and if he wants a drink he will get a cup fill it up for himself and then he spills it as he walks around.
When you ask him what his name is he says, "NOA!" (We rarely call him Kainoa, let alone Noa)
(I forgot to blog about words he knew back a few months ago…October he was saying: football, gecko, uh oh, baby and he signed hot, more and food)

Tyce: What island in heaven does Jesus live on?
Tyce lives in the moment and I've caught him sticking his tounge out riding in the rain.  He talks about ripping it on his skateboard or surfing.  Once after brushing his hair he told me he had a 'barrel in [his] hair'

When in doubt Kai says: COCONUT and Tyce says: SEXY

These two are a crack up and great buddies

Kite Kindness

So we got this great kite for Christmas from Grammie and Grandad.  We had the perfect windy day and got out the kite to give it a whirl.

It went up smoothly.

Everyone took turns so nicely as they were all excited to have a chance.

The kite went higher and higher and higher!

Mr. Cheese loved it and so did his brothers.  As they were passing it from one person to another (no names mentioned), the kite got loose and flew up in the air without anyone holding on anymore.  We watched it sadly float over the house and thought it was gone for good.  Much to our surprise and delight, it got caught on a palm tree and the third floor of our friends house.

We have the sweetest neighbors.  With a lot of kind help from multiple neighbors, our kite was rescued!      Good people surround us!

You scream I scream

We all get ICE CREAM!  The seasiders hit 100 points at their game tonight which means the seasider cafe breaks out free ice cream for all of the fans.  We had a few really excited little (& big) fans chanting "ICE CREAM!  ICE CREAM!  ICE CREAM!" when the score got close.

Such a fun tradition that I'm so happy our kids got to experience and partake of.

Dirty Date

Warrior Dash

I love my husbie…even when he looks funny.

Coconut Climbing Beach Day

New Hawaiian Legend according to Tyce: To make big waves throw sand in the water.
PS He ALWAYS throws a handful in :)

GAR

It was an early start and still dark out!

I had to document my bib and my excitement.  I have been wanting to do this race since I lived here in college.  I felt good running and came in at a time I was pleased with.  I was thankful that I wore a hat because it rained THE.ENTIRE.TIME!!  Still super fun as races always are.

Best part was meeting my guys after the finish!

Surf & Shave Ice

Zach's 1st surf session!

The day wouldn't be complete without introducing him to Matsumoto's Shave Ice.

This guy is a definite fan for life!

Grampa and Tutu

Grampa and Tutu made it over to see us all before their yearly anniversary trip to Kauai.  It was fun to show them where we lived and just visit with them both.

We got to take a trip to the Polynesian Cultural Center to see the night show with the whole crew.

I think it had been years since my Dad and Sue had seen the PCC.  This was another first for Zach!  He is getting all kinds of local culture & is learning to love Hawaii just as we do!
The boys are entranced by the dancing and of course couldn't wait for the pineapple delight.

Peacock Flats

IS NOT FLAT!! The boys decided to skate up and down the hills during our hike today.  It was fun for a while but then Oshyn had the idea of skating down the steep part of the hill.  He may have had better luck if he was riding a board bigger than his penny board...but needless to say, it didn't go so well.  After starting off with a nice glide down the hill, he picked up a lot of speed and his legs started to wobble.  Oshyn tumbled down the pavement a bit before stopping.  Heavenly Father heard my desperate prayers and although he was a bit scraped up, he wasn't broken in any other way.  Whew!

Mr. Toothless

This fellow has lost three top teeth in less than a week!! Too bad Christmas just passed or he could've asked for his two front teeth...

NZ bound

We are all sad to see Grammie and Grandad go back to New Zealand, but we are so lucky we had three weeks with them.  Fortunately for us, we have another visitor/housemate coming soon!

Brrrr!

It has been a little chilly here the past few weeks--a cold front of 70 degree weather :)
Kai is enamored by socks, sweat pants and loves his hoodie.  We think he's pretty cute!
