We're in trouble

So Beau and I always wonder--what will happen if Cruz talks as much as Oshyn does? (for those of you who haven't been around Oshyn much, he runs his mouth CONSTANTLY). We love that we have been able to have two sided conversations with him long before he was even 2 and wouldn't ever change the fact that he can definitely communicate with words. But...two little munchkins talking ALL OF THE TIME?!?! Insanity may be too big of a word to describe it, but don't be surprised if I call up Grandma Annie and ask where she bought her ear plugs. After watching this little video you may understand why I think we may be in trouble!

Too Cool for School

I need to introduce you to Isabella True Jones...Jones. Better know as Bella, this is Sophia's sister (if you read about the 'Big Timers'). She is Oshyn's best friend. Two peas in a pod, these two can't live without each other...and sometimes with each other...Oshyn wants to call and play with Bella each waking moment. To love her or to torture her (as a big brother would) depends on the day and which one of them thinks they are the boss for the hour. We love her and her "pink princess-ness" and just thought she needed a spotlight and proper introduction, being that you will most definitely see more of her and the rest of the Joneses.

Big Timers

The Headlines in today's Lodi News Sentinel read, "Cruz Miller Nobmann and Sophie Love Jones, the two BIGGEST babies in town". 'Two 4-month-old babies put the infant percentile charts in the dust. Measuring in at 28 and 27 1/2 inches long (respectively), these two little people are not so little. Their parents were unaware of their long bodies being that these two families are almost as one and compare only between one another. This may explain why these babies fit only in 9-12 month clothes comfortably.'
Okay...so maybe I made it all up (the newspaper part), but Cruz and Sophia are sucking down some good milk, if you know what I mean! To Cruz, "Keeping up with the Joneses" has a whole new meaning.

Indo Oshyn

This movie is dedicated to all those out there who miss the water and my Uncle Don...with special thanks to "Uncle Sam" Jones for the homemade Indoboard.
And especially to Oshyn, who will watch this a gazillion times, and has been a "wipe out" fan since day one.

'Let's "cut" the whole thing off'

Tomato plants in August before a trimming Oshyn in October before a trimming
So, I got a little pruning crazy...
After the trim
After the trim

This post is inspired by the song below (seen on youtube) which I have sung for many years with my grandparents. My incredibly HUGE tomato plants...yes, there are just 2...have had to be cut back severely three or more times this summer and I think this will be the last time for the season.
An ode to the tomato plants who have brought me (and all of my neighbors) lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots, as Oshyn would say, Tomatoes. Thank you. Aside from the tomatoes getting a hair cut, Oshyn has also received quite a trim back for the season.

You say tomato, I say tomato...You say ocean, I say Oshyn...Let's 'cut' the whole thing off!

The inspiration...Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers

Books, Beanies, and Brothers

So I already warned you about the photo shoots...I do have some disclaimers though, one Oshyn was really reading Cruz that book, and two, I know I live in Lodi, but morning walks in the 60s (maybe even high 50s) is cold to me, so beanies are quite necessary...especially for my bald-headed baby.
These boys are in love. The way they should be, they have the brotherly love down, with only 4 months of practice. Oshyn imitates the way Beau and I talk to Cruz, so imagine all of the fluffy, you are the 'baby of the world', type talk. Cruz full on belly laughs when Oshyn tickles him and even pulls on him when he gets close (when its the hair that gets pulled, Oshyn isn't quite laughing anymore). Oshyn is thrilled when Cruz learns a new trick and tells everyone. They are officially roommates, I even took the portacrib out of our room--wahoo!...we have heard this comment a few times though, "Mom/Dad, Cruz isn't respecting me. He is talking and playing in his crib too loud". Anything for Oshyn to have excuses to come out of his room at night.
We are having fun!

Tricky Boyz

As I was putting these on I thought to myself... how can you have a heart attack when your 3-year old tries to do
back flips on the bed, especially when you started him out at 4 months doing balancing tricks on his Dad's hand? Well, as Oshyn scales our stair case railing...on the outside of the stairs (I'll save that picture for another day) I just have to laugh at his fearless determination. As you can tell, the flutter in my heart must not be too serious of a condition for I have started my second child out on the same route...maybe even at 3 months--opps!

Preschool's Perfect Pumpkin Picker

Last Friday Oshyn and Beau went to a Pumpkin Patch (near Elk Grove) with Oshyn's Preschool. They had a great time...a hayride, pumpkin picking, feeding animals, baling hay, and I'm sure a lot more that I will never quite know about. Actually I'm lucky that Beau went--one, because I am super pumpkin-patched out from last year, and two, if he didn't go, I would have never known they went, besides Oshyn bringing a home a pumpkin. Oshyn has come down with a strong case of "preschool amnesia", anything done at preschool he seems to forget...whenever asked what he learned at school, Oshyn says he learned about motorcycles...EVERYDAY). A mom that went to the pumpkin patch saw Oshyn and said to Beau, "I'm convinced that Carly and Oshyn are the only 2 kids in preschool. When I ask her who was at preschool she always says 'Oshyn'". Beau said, "And I'm convinced all they learn about is motorcycles". I guess it could be worse, one little girl told her mom that on the first day of school Miss Patty (one of the teachers) spanked everyone. Ahh...Preschool--a good time for all! Oshyn did get a nice compliment though, Miss Patty told Beau we should be very proud of him, he is wonderful little boy with a heart of gold. No parent would want to hear anything different...but come on---is anyone surprised?

The End of Email Explosions

i have to admit it. i have an addiction. Most of you are probably aware of it--I LOVE to take pictures. i bring my camera most everywhere and even do mini photo shoots of my kids at home. i'd like to blame it on digital cameras. They make it so easy to take a million pictures and then pick the ones you love later. That's my other problem. i think almost every picture taken of my kids is cute and i can hardly pick one or two to send out to my family and friends in an email...so I send 20 and then almost everyone's email rejects my message--hopefully this blog thing will be the end of email explosions.
